Parking KT6

Most of the roads around KT6 are controlled parking, and either parking suspensions or dispensations are required. For larger Removals in KT6 a parking suspension is a necessity. The suspension has to be booked up to 14 working days in advance of the required date. These are booked with your local council online. For smaller KT6 removals, using vans, we can load and unload for short periods on single yellow lines. Otherwise a dispensation would need to be booked, if we are packing and KT6 flat moving.

A Little Bit About KT6

The KT postcode district covers part of south west London and North The postal district of KT6 covers parts of Surbiton, Long Ditton and Tolworth. The local authorities covering these areas is Kingston upon Thames and Elmbridge.

Surbiton was formerly within the County of Surrey, but became part of Greater London in 1965 following the London Government Act 1963. Surbiton possesses a mixture of Art-Deco courts, more recent residential blocks and grand 19th century townhouses blending into a sea of semi-detached 20th century housing estates.

Surbiton sits in the London borough of Kingston where commuters are attracted by its pleasant riverside location, its green spaces, its fast trains into London Waterloo and its convenient access to the M25 and A3. The fabulous Hampton Court Palace is easily reached, and Kew Gardens and Richmond Park are also close by. Neighbouring Kingston, with its excellent shopping, vivid nightlife and Thames boat trips, is just a walk away, along the river.

Almost all of Surbiton’s state primary schools do well and the following are judged “outstanding” by government education watchdog Ofsted: St Andrew’s and St Mark’s CofE Junior, Christ Church CofE, Tolworth Infants and Our Lady Immaculate RC.

Linley House in Berrylands Road is a private pre-prep school; Shrewsbury House is the local prep school. The council still runs grammar schools: Tiffin School and Tiffin Girls’ School both in nearby Kingston are judged as “outstanding”.

In spite of this competition for the brightest and the best, Surbiton’s comprehensive schools perform well. Holyfield, Southborough and Tolworth Girls’ are all rated as “good”. Surbiton High is a private school and Kingston Grammar in London Road is also popular.
