A Little Bit About St Margarets
St Margarets takes its name from the former St Margaret’s House. It was the country house of Lord Cassilis, Marquis of Ailsa, and later belonged to the Earl of Kilmorey.
Their names can be found in local street names, including Kilmorey Gardens and Ailsa Road.
Grand Victorian and Edwardian family homes sit on tree-lined streets, with those in the coveted Trust Grounds offering exclusive access to vast acres of secret communal gardens – complete with woodlands, tennis courts and a lake – all within a few minutes of the “village” shops and cafés.
There are plenty of other open spaces too, with Richmond, Bushy Hill and Marble Hill parks all nearby, as well as Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace.
The area of St Margarets and North Twickenham has one of the highest employment levels in London.
Situated in TW1 there are three main schools in the town; Orleans Park Secondary School, St. Stephens Primary School and Orleans Infant School.
