Parking E2

The E postcodes were created in 1866 when the E and NE areas were merged together. The postal district of E14 covers the areas of Docklands, Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs, Limehouse and Blackwall in East London. The local authority covering this area is Tower Hamlets.
The E14 area is made up of a big loop of the River Thames and was once a thriving community of dock workers centred around the West India Docks, East India Docks and Millwall Docks. The area went in to mass decline during the 1970s with all the docks closed by 1981, leaving the Isle of Dogs impoverished.
