With the hourly Man and Van rate, crews have the flexibility to do any last minute packing, additional pick ups, trips to recycling, sofas through windows, etc. We are also able to provide a house clearance service, taking items to charity shops or recycling.
Whatever other stresses you have with your move, you can rely on Big Red to ensure that, from start to finish, the removal process is not one of them. Call the NW4 Man and Van specialists now on 0207 228 7651.
Most of the roads around NW4 are controlled parking, and either parking suspensions or dispensations are required. For larger Removals in NW4 a parking suspension is a necessity. The suspension has to be booked up to 14 working days in advance of the required date. These are booked with your local council online. For smaller NW4 removals, using vans, we can load and unload for short periods on single yellow lines. Otherwise a dispensation would need to be booked, if we are packing and NW4 flat moving.
A Little Bit About NW4
The NW postcode district was originally created as part of the London Postal District in 1856. The postal district of NW4 covers Hendon and Brent Cross. The local authority covering these areas is Barnet.
Hendon was historically a civil parish in the county of Middlesex. The manor is described inDomesday (1087), but the name, ‘Hendun’ meaning ‘at the highest hill’, is earlier. There is even evidence of Roman settlement discovered by the Hendon and District Archaeological Society and others; an urn burial of a headless child was found in nearby Sunny Hill Park. The Midland Railway and the Great Northern Railways were built through Hendon in the 1860s. There is evidence of problems of wild horses feeding between the tracks. The underground (Northern line) arrived at Golders Green to the south in 1907, the line being extended to Hendon Central, Colindale and Edgware in 1923/24.
When Brent Cross Shopping Centre opened in 1976 it was the first stand-alone shopping mall in the UK. It was initially constructed in a dumbbell shape running east-west parallel to the North Circular Road, with the two largest stores (John Lewis and Fenwicks) at the ends. It was expanded and renovated beginning in 1995, with additional shops and restaurants on an arm running north from the middle. A multi-storey car park replaced the remainder of the open parking area to the north.
