Whatever other stresses you have with your move, you can rely on Big Red to ensure that, from start to finish, the removal process is not one of them. Call the SE21 Man and Van specialists now on 0207 228 7651.

Parking SE21

Most of the roads around SE21 are controlled parking, and either parking suspensions or dispensations are required. For larger Removals in SE21 a parking suspension is a necessity. The suspension has to be booked up to 14 working days in advance of the required date. These are booked with your local council online. For smaller SE21 removals, using vans, we can load and unload for short periods on single yellow lines. Otherwise a dispensation would need to be booked, if we are packing and SE21 flat moving.

A Little Bit About SE21

The SE postcode district was originally created as part of the London Postal District in 1857. In 1868 some of the areas of the abolished S district were added. The postal district of SE21 covers Dulwich, Dulwich Village, West Dulwich, part of Tulse Hill and part of Sydenham Hill. The local authorities covering these areas are Lambeth and Southwark.

In the Second World War, Dulwich was hit by many V-1 flying bombs and V-2 rockets. A possible explanation for this is that the British military when announcing V-1 and V-2 explosions deliberately gave map co-ordinates four miles north of the truth in an attempt to protect densely populated central London and focus the drops on the open spaces in the suburbs instead.

The suburb of West Dulwich dates back to the 17th century when the often flooded land known as Dulwich Common was acquired and drained by Edward Alleyn’s estate.
West Dulwich has two main parades of shops, the main one being on the Park Hall road junction, where Croxted Road becomes South Croxted Road. Shops there include Tesco, and a number of high end or independent shops. The other parade is on Rosendale Road and has more local-style shops.

An 1832 map shows that Tulse Hill still had only a few buildings on the new roads in contrast to nearby recently developed areas in Brixton and Norwood. However, by 1843, there was a continuous line of houses, predominantly detached and usually with separate coach houses along the full length of Lower Tulse Hill Road from Brixton to the top of the hill.
