Parking in Southfields
Most of the roads around Southfields are controlled parking, and either parking suspensions or dispensations are required. For larger Removals in Southfields a parking suspension is a necessity. The suspension has to be booked 5 working days in advance of the required date. These are booked with Wandsworth council online. For smaller Southfields removals, using vans, we can load and unload for short periods on single yellow lines. Otherwise a dispensation would need to be booked, if we are packing and Southfields flat moving.

A Little Bit About Southfields
Southfields takes its name from the old manorial system, where it was known as the South Field of the manor of Dunsford.
Until the late 19th century Southfields was still fields, situated between the more developed villages of Wimbledon and Putney. When the District & London & South Western Railway from Wimbledon to Putney Bridge opened in June 1889, the area started to take off, with the first school opening a year later on Merton Road.
In 1926, Southfields became home to London’s first Mosque. The Fazl Mosque also known as the London Mosque was built by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and presently serves as the international headquarters of the community. An abstinence law prevented any pubs from being built in the Southfields Grid until 1990 when the law was lifted.
Located in the London postcodes of SW18 and SW19 Southfields is best known as home to the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The area is surrounded with Edwardian architecture and falls in the London Borough of Wandsworth meaning that the area has London’s cheapest council tax.
Southfields is lucky enough to have two ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated primary schools – St Michael’s and Sheringdale. For secondary education, parents choose between St Cecilia’s, John Paul II School (RC) and Southfields Community College.
